小学校入学前というのは、発達の観点から英語の音やリズム、イントネーションを完全に獲得するのに最適といえます。なぜなら、彼らの脳が母国語によって完全に形作られてしまう前であり、英語を受け入れやすい環境にあるからです。言語とは、それに対する理解がなされたときにのみ、獲得されるものです。したがって、私たちのレッスンは、お子様の耳にできる限りわかりやすい英語を届けているのです。

For our preschoolers, we understand that it is at this time in their development that they have the best opportunity to fully acquire the sounds, rhythms and intonation of English. The preschoolers brain has not been fully moulded by their native language and is thus open to easily acquire English. Language can only be acquired when it is understood , so therefore our lessons are feeding the child's ear with as much comprehensible English as possible.

インプット・アクティビティ、アルファベット学習、対話形式のゲーム、楽しいワークブック・アクティビティを織り交ぜたレッスンを通して、生徒たちはたっぷり「英語漬け」になります。

Through a mixture of input activities, alphabet study, communicative games and fun workbook activities, the student is fully immersed in English.

Lesson Structure

私たちのレッスンは、大きく三段階で構成されています。第1段階は、前回のレッスンで学んだアルファベットや語彙を用いたやり取りをします。講師は生徒に号令をかけ、それに生徒が応答します。これは、生徒のリスニング練習となり、講師は生徒が前回のレッスンから生徒がどれだけ理解できているかを測ります。
 

Our lessons follow a three phase structure that allows our teacher to control the flow and dynamics of the class. Phase 1 has the teacher and student engaging in a simple task, using materials they are already familiar, such as the alphabet or vocabulary from earlier lessons. The teacher gives the students simple commands and the student responds. This provides the student plenty of listening practice and the teacher can assess how much they understand.

第2段階では、新たな語彙、パターン、指示を導入します。ここでは、短いゲームを用いて新たな語彙や表現に親しみます。続いて、アプリを用いて新たな単語や文を学びます。レッスンによっては、ワークブックを用いたアクティビティも行います。

Phase 2 is for new input, students will be introduced to new vocabulary, patterns and commands. Quick games are used to help build familiarity. Following this the teacher and student will progress through our small app-based lesson, introducing new words and sentences. In some lessons the student will also progress through their workbook.

第3段階は、ストーリーです。アプリを用いて行ったアクティビティに関連するストーリーを読みます。それに続き、生徒は蔵書の中かからストーリーを選び、講師と一緒にそれを読みます。

Phase 3 is story time. We read stories with related activities using our app. Following this, the student will choose a story from the collection and read it with the teacher.

Targets

Our main goal is to expose the student to as much English as possible with fun and interesting activities. Our targets for each student is as follows: 

  1. Able to respond to various commands in English

  2. Recognition of a wide variety of vocabulary 

  3. Emergence of early, unscripted speech (reply to yes, no questions, express preference from a list, ask simple questions, give simple commands)

  4. Ability to read single words

Prospects

After finishing the course, the students  will be extremely comfortable with English and have a very strong basis on which to progress. They will never pronounce words with a "katakana" accent and they will be able to learn with minimal translation.They will also have very high comprehension and listening skills for their age.

Atmosphere

At this stage, the atmosphere of our classroom is of the utmost importance because we need a stress-free and pleasant environment to acquire English.

We believe the only way to learn a language is through input, to hear it and to understand it. Therefore, we do not pressure our students to speak, though it is rewarded. Despite not being forced, our students start speaking anyway, following a natural progression as they did in their first language.
